Since this appears at the top of everything, I figured I'd just leave this up here as an info page.

My name is Jaenelle (not really legally, but close enough since I've gone by that name for *seven* years ^^), but I'm also called Phèdre, Serenity, or Yuna/Yunie. I'm twenty-four years old and I live in Shanghai, China. I am not a Chinese, but an American of Japanese/Caucasian ethnic heritage.I'm in Shanghai as a graduate student of East China Normal University, studying Chinese literature and linguistics. On the side, I study classical singing privately.

I AM: a singer, a dreamer, a philosopher, a writer, a linguist of sorts, a Buddhist/Shintoist with heavy pagan/witchcraft influences, and a liberal. Any other 'labels' are subject to change.

MY GOALS FOR THE FUTURE: to get my Ph.D, to sing either with an opera chorus or some other kind of performing theatre, to finish mastering Chinese and Japanese as well as few other languages, and to eventually get married, should I get so lucky.
